We The People Community Health Worker Corps
Makes a Difference
the problem
For many young adults and seniors, specifically those who are poor, black and brown people of color, establishing and maintaining access and connections to pathways for formal education, training and career development continues to be nearly impossible in many communities across our country.
This becomes increasingly more the lived reality of poor black and brown young adults under the age of 30, specifically those 25 and under.
Young adults of color are not alone in this experience, many mature Americans are also experiencing increasing barriers to accessing services, workforce training and opportunities to continue to live and thrive within their communities.
our solution
WTP Community Health Worker Corps builds the hands-on problem-solving and leadership capacity of those most impacted by poverty, racism, limited access and a general lack of human respect.
How we do it:
Identify those in community who are already leading, in any way; regardless of affiliation, title, position, education or training.
Acknowledge their leadership and invite them to be supported in their work.
Train them to be effective community health navigators, peer educators and coaches.
Equip them with the tools and resources they determine are needed along with knowledge, access, coaching and advising that is necessary for effective leadership.
Get out their way!
